Wait a minute! Are you better than me?!

Goku wakes up in Bulma's courtyard, and she expresses concern about Goku's sudden loss of consciousness. However, Goku has no memory of who Bulma is/where he is (depending on the player's choices), or even who he is. When Bulma shows him the mirror, he is shocked to see his face and stares at his body in surprise. Bulma begins to realize that Goku is no longer himself. Just then, someone resembling Android 16 lands nearby. Bulma is surprised to see Android 16 alive and asks if he was revived by the Dragon Balls, demanding answers.

Bulma reminds Android 16 of how she fixed Android 16 after his first battle with Cell, to which Android 16 replies that she fixed the other 16, much to her shock. He then asks the player's spirit to communicate with Goku's body and says that there is still more to do. Android 16 threatens to use force if he is resisted. Bulma is unable to understand what is happening and orders Goku to defeat Android 16, but then discovers that Goku does not even remember how to fight. Android 16 comments that since this is Goku's body, he will be strong. While removing his arm, he tells Goku that he will not fight to the death as it would ruin Goku's plans. He then proceeds to blast Goku, but when the smoke clears, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and prevents the blast without taking any damage. Android 16 quickly recovers from his shock and comments that Goku's power is the same as in his data and there is no need for him to hold back. The two then continue fighting. Their fight is interrupted by Beerus and Whis, and Android 16 leaves. The two tell Bulma about the "waves" that appear to be man-made, believing that she is summoning them for an explanation. Although Bulma was unaware of the fluctuations, she reveals to them that the clones were invading and that Frieza and Cell have returned. Beerus and Whis also tell Bulma that Goku's body has been taken over by someone else (the player) and that is why his powers are weakened. Whis then asks the player to awaken Goku, and the player continues to communicate with Goku on a spiritual level, telling him what he is missing. Beerus and Whis speculate that the fluctuations are behind this, believing that other powerful warriors have gone through the same thing. Bulma decides to go with the possessed Goku to find the source of the fluctuations.
