Cagaster of an Insect Cage as Anime

An animated adaptation of Cagaster, directed by Chicken Hashimoto, was released on Netflix on February 6, 2020. Studio Kai is in charge of production. Koichi Chigira is directing, while Shuichi Koyama is in charge of series production. Hitomi Kuroishi is in charge of the music composition.

In the near future, a disease called "Cagaster" appears. It turns people into insects. The story begins in the year 2125, 30 years after the onset of the disease. It follows the adventures of Kido, a boy who fights insects.

The animation was first announced in 2018 during Netflix's "See What's Next: Asia" event in Singapore. Netflix began exclusively distributing the series worldwide on February 6, 2020. # Title Description
1 Little Bo Peep During a normal day as a security guard for a merchant, an exterminator named Kidou intervenes when insects attack the premises. After the battle, Kidou promises to accompany the young Ilie to find her mother in another part of the world.
2 Anchovies and Black Lizards When news of gruesome murders comes to light, Kidou suspects that they are not the work of insects. When Ilie goes to the market, someone steals her bag.
3 From the Abyss Ilie befriends the leader of the Red Rats. In Mario Gardens, Kidou receives a letter with a map showing the location of the murder.
4 Like Merciless Swords The military prepares to exterminate the insects hiding beneath E-05. Kasim, still regretting his actions five years ago, volunteers to act as bait.
5 From the Far East, Ellie learns from Mario that Lazarus, Kido's adoptive father, taught him harsh lessons on how to survive in the Kagast-infested Far East.
6 Awakening A man claiming to be Ellie's father comes to take her away. She and Kido attempt to escape, but Achter ambush them before they can escape.
7 Iliaster While searching for clues to Ellie's past, Kim and Kiddo discover a message Griffith recorded for Franz, explaining his actions and Ellie's origins.
8 The Princess in the Insect Cage Adam's forces plotted to overthrow the Bazaar Overseer by turning E-05 into an insect cage. Kido escapes to E-07, where Ellie is now being held.
9 Insect Feast Kiddo sneaks into the E-07 main tower to find Ellie. After learning the truth about her origins, Ellie declares herself the next Queen of the Cage.
10 After reuniting, Ellie and Kiddo head to the throne room, but Adam's guards and numerous Kagasites block their path.
11 And so... A gravely injured Granz leads Ellie to the Queen's chambers, allowing her to take control of Tanya's fate. Achter and Kido meet for the last time.
12 Finally, Coming for You With the battle between Salif's forces and the E-05 defense forces over, the survivors inside the E-07 main tower are faced with their future.
