Mikoto Mikoshiba (御子柴 実琴), also known as Mikorin, is a high school student at Roman Academy and the series' triangle. He is one of Umetarou Nozaki's assistants, as well as Yu Kashima's close friend and classmate.
Mikoto is considered a handsome boy by his friends, with red hair swept to the right, red eyes, and red buttons on both ears.
At school, he wears the standard Roman Academy uniform, unbuttoned over an orange shirt. According to her background, when she's not at school, she likes to wear bright clothes and follow fashion magazines.
Mikoto attracts the attention of many girls, and is also admired by guys. He is popular and seems to have a charming and flirtatious personality. However, his true nature is rather shy and rather timid, while on the outside he shamelessly and confidently flirts with girls. He later becomes angry and ashamed of his own actions. They sometimes hang out during breaks, after school, and work on manga. Mikoto is aware of his passion for Nozaki and tries his best and desperately to repay it. Despite her initial protests, Sakura calls her "Mikorin".
Mikoto and Kashima have been in the same class since their first year of high school, and have become best friends after constantly competing against each other. Mikoto can act normal around Kashima, unlike other girls. They are good friends. When they are allowed to invite friends to social gatherings, they usually invite each other. According to the Q&A with the author, the two spend time together with ordinary men. Kashima is not well aware of Mikoto's otaku hobby.
