This episode changed the entire story. In other beats, Reiner and Bertolt are revealed to be two massive armored titans, smashing through walls and killing thousands, including Eren's mother.

This revelation was unexpected and surprisingly simple, which surprised her. Reiner nonchalantly explains his true identity to Eren. The news is still not easy as the episode ends with Eren and two other mutants waking up for a big battle. Reiner's humorous way of revealing the truth later went viral on the Internet.
