Sandy is a Legendary Fighter with moderate health, above average movement speed, and great utility with his special abilities, but deals moderate damage. He attacks by throwing sand that spreads and pierces his enemies. His Super summons a sandstorm that renders him and his allies invisible while inside it. Their first gadget is the Sleep Stimulator, which allows Sandy to fall asleep for a short while, restoring all of her lost health. Her other gadget, Sweet Dreams, causes her next attack to apply a special stun to enemies that dissipates when damaged. His first Star Power, Rude Sands, allows his special to deal minor damage to enemies inside him over time. His other Star Power, Healing Winds, allows his Super to heal him and allies inside him for a small amount over time. Swift Winds, her Hypercharge, allows Sandy's next Super to increase the speed of herself and her allies while within her radius. Enemies affected by Sandy's Hypercharge cannot attack or use their Supers, Gadgets, or Hypercharges.
Sandy attacks her enemies by throwing a piercing sand that spreads out in a wide cone, dealing very little damage. The attack consists of shooting three clusters of sand from left to right. Only one cluster of sand deals damage to enemies.
Sandy's gadget immobilizes him for a second and a half to restore all health. If Sandy is already at full health, the gadget cannot be activated. Sandy will still take damage and lose damage while the gadget is active. The gadget can be interrupted by knockback, pull, and stun. If Sandy is a heavy fighter in a big game, he will only heal for 10% of his maximum health. This gadget is affected by a healing debuff similar to Crow's Poison.
When activated, Sandy's next Super prevents the affected enemy from using any attacks, Supers, gadgets, or Hyper Charges, similar to Otis's Super, for 0.5 seconds. It does not affect passive effects such as Hyper Charge Gear's speed increase or Bo's Whirling Eagle Star Power. This Hyper Charge works on spawns such as Nita's Bear, Penny's Cannon, or Jesse's Turret. However, it does not affect passive turrets such as 8-Bit Turret and Palm's Turret. For the entire duration, a red cross will appear above the head of the affected target to indicate that the effect is active, and if it hits an enemy fighter, the affected fighter's screen will darken slightly. This sandstorm will increase Sandy and her teammates' movement speed by 20% when they are in range. Sandy also gains 25% movement speed, 25% damage, and 5% armor.
Sandy's super is very effective in 3v3 mode because teammates can stay in a stable position while near his super. His super allows him and his allies to achieve the mode's objectives, whether it's collecting lightning in sieges, collecting gems from gem grabs, capturing zones in hot zones, and bosses from hunters, or hiding or stalking bosses in big Hunter games.
Sandy is useful in raids and sieges due to her super, but Sandy isn't very useful in raids because she deals little damage. Sandy's star power can be used for offense or defense in these situations. You can use Rude Sands to deal damage to Safe/IKE while you and your allies attack, or use Healing Wind to heal teammates while you attack, because enemies will try to stop you from attacking. Heal in Siege is especially useful because IK turrets will continuously attack your team. Additionally, due to Sandy's higher than normal movement speed and health in sieges, he's great for catching arrows. You can also use Bolt as bait for melee fighters who might be standing near Bolt in his sandstorm. In this case, he becomes invisible, and enemies trying to pull Bolt can defeat him. In Brawl Ball, you can use Sandy's Super to cover the area around the ball. Using the ball as bait, if enemies try to steal it, a close combatant like Bull can defeat it. Take the time after they're defeated to have faster brawlers or passersby like Leon, Stu, or Edgar kick the ball into the goal. Additionally, Sandy's speed is above average, making him an ideal passer.
