Kurusu Syo (来栖 翔) is a student at Saotome Academy, ranked in Class S. He is a member of ST☆RISH and is the twin brother of Kaoru Kurusu. He is voiced by Hiro Shimono (下野 紘, Shimono Hiro).



Syo is a small boy with blonde hair that is parted on the right side, a shade of pink, and her bangs are kept out of her eyes with a red hair clip. Her eyes are blue. In the anime, her irises are black. She has pierced ears, and she has black nail polish.

She is probably the most stylish character in the series, as they usually wear a variety of clothing in addition to their regular uniforms. He almost always wears a hat to make himself look taller.

He is described as "stylish" and is also considered "cute". He hates it when people call him that.

Syo is very energetic and has a positive personality. She can be a bit hot-tempered and defensive at times, especially when they tease her about her height. When Syo was a child, he was often hospitalized for heart disease, and cursed the body he received. She was told that she would only live until she was 12 years old. Even though Syo was informed of this, she lived on, and even beat her odds by outliving her lifespan. And now, she is living a strong life as well. Due to her heart problems, Syo wanted to greatly increase her strength and body, so she eventually turned to karate and became on par with her idol, Ryuya Hyuuga.

In fact, he had a heart attack in the game, so much so that he would fall if he tried too hard or got too excited. Because of this condition, his body became quite weak. After watching Ryuya Hyuuga on TV, she was inspired to become an idol even though she had heart problems and was also the idol of the man who was her teacher in Class S. It also turns out that Syo has a twin brother named Kaoru. Her twin brother is more protective of her, swearing that even though they are younger twins, they will always be the ones to protect and take care of her. In the game, he explains that his mother is an orchestra conductor who mostly works overseas, and his father is a stylist at the Shining Agency.

In the anime, Syo Natsuki is Shinomiya's childhood friend who chased her with a trap to the top of the tower and developed a fear of heights. Almost dying if she doesn't catch him, Syo often competes in violin competitions with Natsuki.

The character's name 翔 means "to fly" or "to fly". The first character of his surname 来 means "to become" and the second character 栖 means "to nest".
In the game, unlike in the anime, he and Natsuki never know each other.
His younger twin sister, Kaoru, is taller than him. Syo and Kaoru's voice actors are best friends in real life.

The anime's official website confirms that Syo and Otoya are both 15 years old, and Haruka is the same age as them. However, since Otoya's birthday is in April (April 11), not long after the start of the Japanese school year (April 1), if the series' school system were to be based on the Japanese school system, it would be the beginning of the following school year. She would be 16 years old the following school year. In comparison, Syo's birthday (which she shares with Natsuki - June 9) is after Otoya's birthday, meaning that Syo would be older after that. But not long after that, this would apply to Cecil, whose birthday is October 31st, which is also after April, and possibly Haruka, who is noted to be the same age as Otoya and Shou (although she doesn't give an official birthday). Syo's zodiac sign is Gemini, which symbolizes twins. Coincidentally, she herself is a twin, the other being Kaoru.
In the first episode of the second season, Syo is the only character whose exact height is stated in the anime. According to Ai, Syo is approximately 161 cm (5'3"). Ai also suspects that Syo is not actually 160 cm (5'7" or 6'3") taller, depending on the AI's visual judgment.

The average height of a male in Japan is 170–172 cm (5'7" to 5'8"), with Syo being 9–11 cm (4–5 inches) shorter than the average height.

She and Natsuki have the biggest height difference, standing about 25 cm (1.7 inches) shorter than Natsuki.
