Vegeta and Bulma first met on Namek, but neither of them really talked. Bulma is afraid of Vegeta but he doesn't care, especially since his main concern is finding the Dragon Balls. However, their first interaction was before their rematch with Zarbon, where Vegeta threatened to kill Bulma and Krillin. The first sign of affection between them is in Immortal, when Vegeta calls Bulma "beautiful girl" in the Ocean Team dub during a conversation with Gohan. The first sign that Bulma is attracted to Vegeta is after Goku's battle with Frieza and the destruction of Namek, when Bulma tells Vegeta that she thinks he is cute and that he should relax a bit, this confused him.

Despite her rough start, Bulma is still willing to give in to Vegeta, even when he scares her. After being killed, resurrected, and teleported to Earth by Frieza, Bulma invited Vegeta to live at Capsule Corporation because she had nowhere else to go but on the condition that he not touch her.
