Obi-Wan Kenobi's Story

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a legendary male Jedi Master with Force-sensitive abilities who served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Republic era. Kenobi was a high-ranking Jedi General who served in the Grand Army of the Republic and fought against the Separatist droid army during the Clone Wars, nicknamed "The Negotiator". However, Kenobi was forced into exile when the Republic's own clone troopers initiated the Jedi Purge by the Republic's Supreme Chancellor Darth Sidious's secret execution of Order 66. Counselor Kenobi was responsible for training two members of the Skywalker family, Anakin and Luke Skywalker, who served as his apprentices in the ways of the Force.

Kenobi was born on the planet Stewjon in 57 BBY. He was Force-sensitive, so he was separated from his family and taken into the Jedi Order as a child. Kenobi was raised in the Jedi Grand Temple on the planet Coruscant and was assigned to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Kenobi achieved the rank of Jedi Knight by defeating the Sith Lord Darth Maul during the Invasion of Naboo in 32 AD. He also chose to train Anakin Skywalker - the prophesied Chosen One destined to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the Force - after making a promise to Jinn, who was killed in a lightsaber duel with Maul.

With the outbreak of the Clone Wars in 22 AD, Kenobi achieved the rank of Jedi General in the Galactic Republic Army and was appointed commander of the Open Ring Fleet, the Third System Army, and served as Commander of the Seventh Sky Corps to Cody. Throughout the galactic conflict, he was his second-in-command, and their forces achieved many victories against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the war, his old enemy Maul reappeared in galactic affairs, determined to avenge Kenobi's defeat decades earlier. Despite their many fierce duels, Maul was unable to end Kenobi's life or weaken his spirit, although he killed his former lover, Duchess of Mandalore Satine Kryze.

In 19 AD, Kenobi killed General Grievous, the Separatist military commander-in-chief, at the Battle of Utapau, essentially ending the Clone Wars. He later survived the first attack of the Jedi Purge against the Jedi Order caused by the machinations of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. After discovering Skywalker's turn to the dark side of the Force and becoming Sidious' Sith apprentice under the name of Darth Vader, Kenobi defeated his former apprentice on Mustafar and exiled himself to the planet of Rym outside of Tatooine after the Galactic Empire took power. He lived a reclusive life under the name "Ben Kenobi", caring for Vader and Senator Padmé Amidala's son Luke.

Ten years later, Kenobi left his exile to rescue Luke's twin sister, Leia Organa, and was hunted by Imperial Inquisitors and Vader himself. After this, Kenobi was once again pursued by Maul, whom he eventually killed to protect young Luke. Kenobi began the boy's Jedi training in 0 BBY, and soon after encountered Vader on the first Death Star, where he sacrificed himself to ensure Luke and his allies escaped the Sith Lord. After his death, Kenobi became one with the Force, enabling him to continue mentoring Luke during the Galactic Civil War. In his fourth year, Kenobi reunited with his former student Anakin Skywalker, who had killed his Sith Master in order to save his son. Kenobi is remembered as a legendary Jedi Master during the rise of the New Republic. Ben Solo, the son of Luke's twin sister Princess Leia Organa, was named after Kenobi. Solo's turn to the dark side left Luke disillusioned with the legacy of the Jedi Order, and he held Kenobi responsible for Anakin's transformation into Vader. However, Luke's faith was eventually restored with the help of Darth Sidious' niece Rey, to whom Kenobi offered his voice and power during the final battle, and reclaimed victory over his ancestors at Exegol in 35 BC.

Jinn instructed Kenobi to find a ship, but the apprentice was unsuccessful as he was stopped in a hangar. Kenobi was briefly held hostage by Thurble, the chief steward of Wanpo the Hutt, but was soon released in exchange for Wanpo, who was held captive by Jinn. Eventually, the Jedi Knights managed to leave the planet after reaching a tenuous peace agreement with Wanpo. Although both Jedi tried to remain optimistic about the outcome of the mission, Kenobi felt that he had failed his master.
