During the Galactic Civil War, he served as the crime lord of the Jarek Besh crime syndicate, secretly acting as the ISB's intelligence operative, extracting intelligence from various criminal organizations in the galaxy, and the Alliance The Republic would infiltrate the Underworld in search of restoration.

Wes successfully broke into one of Barsha's safes, but after learning that there were no credits inside, He then demands payment as promised. Dane and Danion try to reason with him, but Wes threatens them with a blaster. In response, Danion stuns her and flees, leaving her to go after Barsha and Jarek Besh. Finding Dane missing and Wes alone in the vault, Barsha questions him about his contacts with the rebels, but Wes escapes with the help of his pet Merkal Nix. Despite being pursued by Westhill's security, Wes makes it to Barsha's private hangar and escapes Cantonica by stealing his Trailblazer, a small EML 850 cargo ship.
