« on: July 31, 2024, 07:20:00 PM »Since fans last saw Oshi No Ko, they have wondered whether their favorite supernatural anime will return with a sophomore run. Will there be Oshi No Ko Season 2? Well, it might be! Despite having scarce updates about the anime, the studio has recently made the much-needed announcement. So, is it on the cards? Yes, you read that right! Not only is it in the cards, but the anime is closer to being released. Curious to know when? Keep reading to know the details.
Inspired by the Aka Akasaka manga of the same name, Oshi No Ko follows the revenge journey of the famous idol’s son, Aqua Hoshino. An obstetrician-gynecologist, Gorou Amamiya, was tasked to help his favorite female idol, Ai Hoshino, deliver her baby. Instead, he was killed by a crazy fan and later reincarnated as Ai’s child with his previous life’s memory. He later figured out that his twin sister was his patient who died the same day. While things seemed dramatic, Aqua deduced that the murderer had kidnapped Ai’s partner, who had also killed his mom. So, to give justice to Ai and her lover, Aqua embarked on a mission to unearth the truth and save his dad.
Oshi No Ko Season 2: Renewed Or Not?
Oshi No Ko debuted in April 2023 and soon received critical acclaim from its fans. The series was undoubtedly amazing, and this was also evident in its ratings. On IMDb, it received a solid 8.4 stars out of 10 , while on MyAnimeList, it garnered 8.6 stars. While Tensei anime (where characters are reborn or reincarnated) doesn’t usually receive such ratings, it broke all the records.
Following the first season’s cliffhanger in June 2023, fans eagerly awaited the official announcement about Oshi No Ko Season 2. However, the studio never renewed the series for a sophomore run, leaving fans disheartened as they clamor for more. But their wait appeared shorter than expected as the studio finally made the official announcement. While it never released an official statement, Oshi No Ko Season 2 is happening.

While the studio never renewed the series for a second run, in a Sunday live-streamed program, Oshi No Ko Season 2’s first main promotional video, featuring new character visuals and a new main visual, was released. That means the series is happening. Yes, you read that right! Your favorite Tensei series is ready to rock your world.
This is because the new season will be a show-within-a-show. Confused? Well, the trailer clip hints that our favorite characters will be back to play Tokyo Blade’s 2.5D Stage Play Arc. Yes, it will be a play-within-a-play where the idols will audition for the Tokyo Blade show. But will they get selected?
Well, the powerful opening theme, “Fatale” by GEMN, hints that the next season will be more of a blast, where Aqua and Ruby will focus more on their latest project than on finding the murderer. Oshi No Ko Season 2: What To Expect Next?
The short teaser offers a glimpse of the arc of Oshi No Ko Season 2. The sophomore run will focus on the ‘2.5D Stage Play.’ The teaser hints that the story will be a blend of mystery, drama, and ambition as it follows protagonists Aqua, Kana, Akane, and others who are set to prepare for the Tokyo Blade stage play.
A voice shares that this time, the actors are too good. They have better-acting knowledge and get immersed in their roles, hinting at the huge success of the Tokyo Blade play. Soon, the narration shifts to Akane, who sets to play Himekawa. While he gracefully embarks on his journey, the other characters don’t want to lose, either, creating an intense battle among the characters.
However, as the trailer progresses, Aqua remains focused on unearthing the truth behind the enigmatic Lala Lai Theatrical Company. Well, it’s because he believes it has something to do with her mother’s death. So, will he ever find the truth? Let’s wait for this.
