He is called the "prince" of the school, but the truth is that he is the complete opposite of a prince and plans to become Erika Shinohara's boyfriend just to make her his "dog". He gradually began to care for her and became jealous when she was around other boys. Later in the series, after all the drama, he officially becomes Erika's real boyfriend.
Kyouya is a very handsome young man with messy blonde hair and red eyes. He usually wears a school uniform, which consists of a white shirt, a gray cardigan, and a red and white striped tie. Due to his stylish, casual attire, he is often mistaken for a model.
In Volume 16, Chapters 58 and 58.5, his hair is less messy and longer, suggesting that he has cut it.
Kyouya uses his "prince" image to hide the fact that he is a sadist. With the exception of Erika Shinohara, he is kind and polite to everyone else. But this is an illusion. Over time, he has discovered that he is cold towards anyone who tries to get close to him. Gradually, whenever Erika interacts with other men, he becomes protective of her. He is also often jealous. Kyouya is described as a "tsundere". Over time, his personality improves. He often says rude things to Erika.
Kyouya's parents divorced before the start of the series and at first they got along well, but due to his parents' busy schedules, they grew apart, which is often depicted as Kyouya watching a snowman slowly fall apart. Since then, his parents' divorce has deepened his cold attitude towards love. In the final episode, when he and Erika Shinohara returned home from visiting their mother, they saw the snowman fall down again. Erika shows him a picture of her sister smashing a snowman, and he realizes that the snowman didn't fall for no reason. Erika continues to talk about snowmen, then tells him that if he destroys the snowman they built together, she'll build hundreds more. This makes him smile. He lives in an apartment with his father, a workaholic who often works abroad. As a result, he's often home alone. His mother lives near Kobe, but he rarely visits her. However, after visiting Erika, he told her that he'll visit her more often.
Kyouya loves dogs because he has a soft spot for them, but he refuses to adopt one himself because his last pet died when he was in his second year of middle school. When he remembers that he might lose a pet again one day, he can't adopt another one.
Kyouya hates Valentine's Day, Christmas, and dates.
Kyouya doesn't like sweets.
Kyouya really cares for Erika Shinohara and really loves her.
Kyouya keeps saying that he has no shortage of women, which could indicate that he was a playboy before he met Erika. This all changes when he meets Erika, who claims that he stopped messing around with girls since he got a new dog.
Kyouya impregnated Erika before they got married.
Kyouya doesn't like airplanes and claims that he doesn't understand how a big piece of metal can fly.
Before Kyouya met Erika, he had a short relationship/past relationship, but that all changed after that.
