The trio head to a cave where Goku insists Vegeta is. In the distance, Piccolo sees Frieza standing over Vegeta, ready to kill him. Piccolo distracts him with a well-placed blast, and the trio come to Frieza's stand to confront him. Frieza admits not to working with Android 21, and wants to kill him himself before Vegeta claims him. Then the Ginyu Force arrives to help Frieza fight: Rekom, Bert, Jessie, Goldo, and Ginyu.
After being defeated, Frieza reveals that Android 21 feeds on the people she defeats, which increases her power. You can do this by turning them into sugary candies. Goldo then paralyzes the team so that Frieza can escape. While the heroes fail to defeat Frieza and his followers, they succeed in rescuing Vegeta.
**Goku, Krillin, and Piccolo come to Trunks and Goten lying on the ground. They are injured, and it's clear they need to be taken to the ship. After being rescued, the two wake up on the ship. Piccolo tells them what's happening around the world, letting them know that they can't fight without a connection. Trunks is unsure, thinking that merging with Goten would work just as well. The two merge into Gotenks. He then tries to refute Piccolo with the Miracle Fist, but finds it doesn't work. An attempt is made to fly instead, but with the same result. Gotenks finally succumbs to the truth.
On their ship, Goku senses something huge. Krillin also realizes it, noting that he resembles Buu, but something more - a mix of all the villains they've ever defeated. Piccolo deduces that it can only be Android 21. Bulma points out that the same thing was said to Ciel at some point, and Piccolo replies that it makes sense since they're both robots. Vegeta surmises that she exposed herself to lure them in. Goku is ready for a fight.
The team encounters Android 21 on the devastated Namek. Bulma calls out to her from her flying ship as the others wait on the ground. Android 21 flies into the area and lands in a cloud of fire and rubble. Android 21 can barely contain her desire to eat them. After the shenanigans are over, she recharges herself, only to have Goku request a timeout. She listens in amazement as he explains why she needs a different place to fight since she is so powerful. The others grab Goku and he makes them disappear. Android 21 is left alone and becomes angry.
They reach the Supreme Kai realm, where Goku tells the story and asks the Supreme Kai if they can fight there. The old man is not pleased at all. The Supreme Kai admits that fighting in this world is the safest course of action, but expresses doubt that 21 can make it. Beerus and Whis are also present and announce that they are here to see the show. Beerus apparently expects them to fight 21 here. The God of Destruction's prediction proves to be correct, and Android 21 arrives shortly thereafter, ready to fight.
After the victory, the defeated 21 insults the heroes for not having a chance to satisfy her sweet tooth. Goku gathers his strength and prepares to deliver a fatal blow, as does the rest of the team. Thanks to the combined power of Vegeta's Final Flash, Gohan's Masenko, Gotenks' DIE Missile Barrage, Krillin's Destruction Disc, Piccolo's Special Beam Gun, Yacha's Spirit Orb, Ten's New Three Beams, Majin Buu's Transformation Beam, and Goku's Kamehameha, 21 appears to have been completely obliterated. Only a burning scar remains on the ground.
At the end of this arc, Whis tells Soul that this result does not reveal all the truth surrounding these events. They do not know who Android 21 really is, or who Android 16 tried to save. Whis tells Soul to keep searching for the truth. Therefore, it seems that Soul has returned to the beginning of these events, but possesses Frieza instead of Goku.
