The Story of Tegamibachi

In the land of Amberground, an artificial sun serves as the only source of light for the capital city of Akatsuki. As eternal night lingers, the farther away from the capital city, the darker and more dangerous it becomes. The area around Yusari and Yokka is inhabited by giant armored insects called Gaichu, which feed on the hearts of people. However, the Letter Bees, a special mail carrier, are tasked with delivering letters throughout Emberground, risking their lives while battling Gachu.

Lag Seeing, a 12-year-old, wishes to become the letter B, like Gauche Suede, after a fateful encounter five years ago, where Gauche himself "sent" Lag a letter sent by his missing mother. Determined to meet Gauche again and uncover the truth behind his mother's disappearance, Lug embarks on a journey to become the letter B.

Tekamibashi began serialization in the monthly Shonen Jump, until the magazine ceased operations in June 2007 and moved to the newly launched Jump SQ on November 4. In October, prior to the Jump SQ debut, a special chapter, Tegamibachi to Dingo, was published. A one-shot in Weekly Shounen Jump

Tegami Bachi was published in English under the title Tegami Bachi: Letter B by VIZ Media under its Shonen Jump imprint from September 1, 2009 to March 7, 2017. It began serialization in the March 2009 issue of the Shounen Jump anthology in Europe. The series is licensed by Panini Comics in Italy through its Planet Manga division, Cana in France, and Planeta Diagostini in Spain.
